Kishalay Foundation’s Early Education program ensures that children in vulnerable and remote regions receive the foundational learning they deserve. Our work focuses on providing quality pre-school education, proper nutrition, and a nurturing environment that promotes all-round development.
Every child has the right to education. It is not a privilege but a birthright. Education is the one medium capable of removing social and economic impediments, paving the path for a healthy and sustainable society. Yet, in many rural parts of India, quality education remains out of reach due to impoverishment, lack of awareness, and limited opportunities.
Kishalay Foundation began its journey by focusing on early education for underprivileged children in the Sundarbans region. Many of these children belong to farming families and had little or no access to structured learning environments. Through our early education centers, children participate in pre-school learning activities delivered by well-trained local teachers. Our pedagogy blends academic readiness with sports, storytelling, and activity-based learning to strengthen both mind and body.
Short bullet list of program features
A nutritious meal is an essential part of a child’s development. Children enrolled in Kishalay Foundation’s centers receive wholesome food, organically grown in our own farms. Proper nutrition supports physical growth, strengthens immunity, and enables children to focus on learning.
What began in the Sundarbans has now expanded to three additional districts in North 24 Parganas, Murshidabad, and Purulia. The program today operates through a strong team of over 100 members across 25 locations, delivering consistent, quality early education to children in remote communities.
Our child care program aims at improving living conditions and enabling children to achieve economic independence in the future. These efforts contribute to building an ecosystem where every child, regardless of background, gets equal opportunities and a fair start in life.
